Regular host Todd Lewis joined in the first hour and the two discussed officiating, the loss of Toews and Bergeron for the Hawks and Bruins, John Tortorella in Vancouver, and why Todd would’ve tossed Johnny Boychuk last night. Dave Lozo from TheScore’s Backhand Shelf jumped on in the second hour to discuss what may be the end of the Bruins, the weird thing Toews did, his pick for the Conn Smythe and possible homes for the Kings’ #2 netminder Jonathan Bernier next season. During the show, the Leafs broke the news of acquiring Jonathan Bernier from the Kings. Eric touched on his distaste for the combo hooking/diving penalty last night, why he thinks video review should be utilized and more.

In a special Father’s Day edition of Hockey Unfiltered, the show’s songs all honored dad. Guest host Eric Gage was behind the mic and he chatted with guests Joe Yerdon from NBC Sports and Justin Goldman from McKeen’s Hockey. Eric and Yerdon talked about a variety of league-wide headlines, including last night’s Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, predictions for Game 3, and their reviews of the NHL awards. Regular host Todd Lewis jumped on in the second hour to check in, and he and Eric discussed Todd’s distaste for the NHL awards execution, the CHL banning European goalies, and recaps and predictions for Game 3. The last guest of the show was Director of Goaltending Justin Goldman from McKeen’s Hockey. He and Eric broke down why he felt Sergei Bobrovsky was the best choice for Vezina, what makes Tuukka Rask unflappable, Corey Crawford’s impeccable efficiency and more discussions on the CHL’s controversial decision.

Stubits and Todd talked in the second hour about the Kings in more depth, and which team had the toughest road to the conference finals. Todd also discussed which equipment change he thinks is a great move and why he thinks nets should get bigger.

On Sunday’s edition of Hockey Unfiltered, The Sporting News’ NHL reporter Jesse Spector joined in, as well as former NHL referee and TSN columnist Kerry Fraser. The Sunday music was TV themes! In addition to riveting sandwich reviews, Jesse and Todd broke down the Blackhawks – Kings series and the disappointing stat the Kings compiled yesterday. Kerry Fraser jumped on in the top of the second hour to discuss Matt Cooke’s hit on Adam McQuaid and how it compares to the rule book verbiage, Kerry and Todd disagreed on video review, and Kerry talked about a refs perspective on the ice. Todd also covered  why Crosby shoving Chara was a cheap challenge, his desire for more clear cut rule book standards, and the frequent case of stopped plays and mysterious penalties.
